what we do
Chrysalis
Our Chrysalis programme of activities, courses and groups is especially for women offenders or those at risk of offending.
We work with women in the community and in custody to help them get the full range support services they need. We consider each woman’s complete wellbeing: their physical and mental health, their housing and family background, and drug and alcohol misuse.
Holistic support like this is the most cost-effective way of tackling women’s offending.
We offer education, training, help with housing, finances and family matters. Our women- only centres offer a safe environment to talk about violence and abuse, and we compliment this with counselling and life skills.
Funded by the Ministry of Justice, National Offender Management Service, the Corston
Coalition and many others, what we're doing is working. 97% of women taking part have not re-offended.
Women are referred to Chrysalis via custody suites, the probation service, specialist local service providers, and some women even self-refer.
