How your company can help
Companies and organisations can help Platform 51 make a real difference to the lives of young women from disadvantaged communities.
By working with Platform 51 your company can strengthen links with your local community and help young women overcome barriers to employment, raise aspirations and help shape a future workforce.
Platform 51works to tackle social and economic disadvantage. A corporate partnership with Platform 51will show your commitment to social responsibility to your shareholders, customers and employees, helping you stay competive and profitable. Community investment is more important than ever in the current economic situation.
Platform 51, women and work
Our programmes provide young women with support and information about education, skills and employment. We help girls and young women to:
- move into employment, education or training
- learn new skills
- engage in education
- gain experience through volunteering
Our recent campaign called for young women to get the skills they need to work their way off the bottom rung of the career ladder. In 2008 young women from Platform 51 tried out non-traditional careers at a skills day. Read the news story.
For more information read our briefings and information sheets about girls and women.
