Platform 51’s response to the ONS consultation on wellbeing
Given the UK's relative economic success, we perform very badly in measures of wellbeing, and research has shown that women in the UK have a poorer measure of wellbeing than men. Platform 51 believes that in order to measure wellbeing effectively, this index must take account of girls' and women's subjective experiences. Improving women's wellbeing improves the situation of not only women, but the family and communities who often depend on them for their own wellbeing.
