Truth About Youth - Loud and Proud
Challenging negative perceptions of young people

The Loud and Proud action group truth team held their first truth challenge on the 9 April, where they celebrated their LGBT youth group and all the positive activities they have done.
During their Truth About Youth meetings the group had planned and put together their event to challenge negative perceptions of young people. On the day they used a camcorder to interview guests and capture their feelings of young people, they displayed pictures of work they have undertaken as a group using the rainbow theme and their "Safe Space, My Space" posters.
A Loud and Proud member, Shourkie, aged 22 said: "I enjoyed showing people all the activities we have done and it has improved my confidence".
The whole group enjoyed planning and hosting the event and are already planning their next truth challenge.
One community member, Sue Brook said: "More events like this are needed to challenge the negative perceptions of all young people"
